Emergency and nurse call system for senior residence in Otterbach
The facility operator's challenge: The new operator of the co-living for elderly took over the facility after insolvency and found that the old nurse call system was defective: frequent failures, missing spare parts, and chaotic wiring caused daily stress and disorder in the server room.

About the project
Seniorenresidenz Otterbach GmbH focuses on humane elderly care and offers an environment in two residential groups (24 places) and 39 service apartments where residents can feel at home and improve their quality of life. The long-standing nurse call system was prone to failure, which prompted the management to replace it.

Mobile nurse call system with voice connection;

optimizes daily travel distance and time, relieves nursing staff

The operator was looking for a modern system complies with industry standards and optimizes daily travel routes at the same time. A home emergency call system was integrated into the service apartments at the request of relatives. The system had to provide event logs and reports for proof of performance and adjustments to so called care grades that define the level of service provide to each patient.

Replacement of the entire legacy IT infrastructure

- 1 Divital server (1U), instead of 2 completely filled server cabinets

Divital seamlessly swapped put the legacy systems, kept to budget and schedule, and fulfilled all customer requirements as well as building, and maintenance regulations.

Our mobile nurse call system integrates silent alarming and digital PBX: Caregivers only carry one device that displays all alarms with room number and floor. A voice connection in the best sound quality allows for immediate assessment and prioritization of an emergency. This optimizes walking distances for caregivers and saves >3 hours/day, thus contributing to increasing the quality of care and the satisfaction of the care team and residents.

The new nurse call system has been working perfectly since 2023 and is very well recieved by the care staff and residents. 6 new rooms were additionally equipped with Divital systems in 2025, after renovation and expansion.
